Introduction
It is possible to double the desktop space of your windows by connecting a second projector monitor or any other kind of video displaying device. If you have an old computer screen, you can easily connect it to your tablet or personal computer as a second projector monitor and it can double your windows desktop.
Windows enlarges your desktop workspace over both screens of the computer. That makes you look at the encyclopedia online on the first projector monitor whilst reading your paper on the other screen.
By connecting a projector monitor, it is also possible to mirror the screen of your laptop with what you look at on the monitor projector. You can also link your device such as a tablet to your big size TV for watching documentaries and movies.
How To Use Projector As A Second Monitor
A projector monitor can double as a second monitor when you link it to your personal computer. This system allows you to duplicate or extend the display of your screen onto a huge canvas, so you can be able to look at the latest reports of your company in a projection of theatre style, or display
a presentation of the company to a room of people, for instance. Attaching monitors and projectors to Windows 7 pc is a very easy process.
You can use the projector as a secondary monitor by following the given steps.
Step 1: See on the backside of your personal computer or on the left or right side of your laptop to check what type of connection your pc has. Many desktop computers have more than 1 connector, however, they might differ in kind: a “15-pinned” VGA connector with arranged pins in 3 rows. The other connector is DVI which is rectangular and long and has a different number of arranged pins. Another connector is HDMI which is similar to a USB connector but is not completely rectangular.
Step 2: See on the backside of the projector monitor, or use the list of specifications, to look at what type of connectors is supportable. Almost every type of projector supports an “S-Sub” port, which offers fifteen pinned VGA connections. Few types of projectors also support an “HDMI” port that is also known as USB or DVI connections. If your computer monitor projector and pc support both connections, select DVI or HDMI for a high-resolution display. However, the quality of VGA is also reasonable.
Step 3: Link the projector monitor to your pc using a matching connection type of cable. If you don’t have the matching connection, you can change a “DVI” connector into VGA or HDMI with the help of an adapter between the projector computer monitor and cable.
Step 4: Switch on the projector computer monitor.
Step 5: Press Windows P and then choose either “Extend” to make use of the projector monitor as an addition to your normal desktop or “Duplicate” to mirror the screen.
Projector VS Monitor
IF we talk about projector vs monitor, the purpose of both are same for monitors and projectors. But when comparing monitors and projectors then there are some factors to observe. For basic use such as watching movies, playing games, etc, a monitor is a perfect choice. But for office use, the projector is more convenient.
Conclusion
A projector computer monitor can be used as a secondary monitor. It makes it possible to display a presentation on a huge screen to a room of people.
